Jets vs. Cowboys 2015 odds: New York betting favorite at Dallas for Saturday

The New York Jets look to continue their push towards a playoff spot this Saturday night as road favorites against the Dallas Cowboys.

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets are 3-0 straight up and against the spread over their last three games. The Jets will try to stay in the playoff picture in the AFC with another win this Saturday night on the road against the Dallas Cowboys.

New York is a 3.5-point road favorite at AT&T Stadium on Saturday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last six games as a road favorite, the New York Jets are 2-4 SU and ATS.

After falling to 5-5 SU on the season with a 1-4 SU and 0-4-1 ATS slump, it looked as though the Jets would be down and out for the 2015 season. But over the last three games, New York has gone 3-0 SU and ATS, fueled by excellent quarterback play from Ryan Fitzpatrick and strong play from the defense as well.

All eight of New York’s wins have come against teams currently below .500, and Dallas will be another team with a losing record on the schedule.

The Jets are 6-3 SU and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games played in the month of December including a current 5-0 ATS stretch per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Dallas Cowboys were able to will themselves to a 19-16 win against the Washington Redskins two weeks ago, but followed that performance up with a 28-7 loss against the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas’s offense has been non-existent through most of the season, and over the team’s last five games the Cowboys are averaging just 14 points per game. Since starting the season off 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS, Dallas is 2-9 SU and 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games overall.

Saturday night’s total is set at 42 points. The UNDER is 9-1 in New York’s last 10 games as a road favorite in December.

Against bad teams, the New York Jets have been able to get the job done this season by protecting the ball and playing well on defense. The Cowboys should fall into the wheelhouse of a team that the Jets can handle, and New York should come away with a road win and cover in this one.
