Panthers vs. Giants 2015 odds: Undefeated Carolina betting favorite at New York

The Carolina Panthers put their undefeated record on the line this Sunday afternoon on the road against the New York Giants.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers have overcome every obstacle placed in front of them so far this season en route to a 13-0 straight up and 10-3 against the spread record. The Panthers are three wins away from a 16-0 season, and they’ll try to get one of those wins on the road at MetLife Stadium on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Carolina is a 5.5-point road favorite on Sunday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last eight games as a road favorite, the Panthers are 8-0 SU and 5-3 ATS.

Another week, another dominating performance from the Carolina Panthers, the betting favorite on the Super Bowl 50 odds. The Panthers crushed the Atlanta Falcons 38-0, showing their strengths on both sides of the ball in the process.

Carolina has scored at least 27 points in each of its last 11 games and is averaging 36.7 points per game over its last six games. On defense, the Panthers rank in the top five in both pass defense and rush defense and are allowing only 18.7 points per game.

Carolina has gone 14-5-1 ATS in its last 20 games as a favorite in the month of December. In Week 15 specifically, the Panthers are 8-0 SU and 6-1-1 ATS over the last eight seasons per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The New York Giants picked up a 31-24 road win over the Miami Dolphins last Monday night, getting a much-needed win to move into a three-way tie for first place in the NFC East. Prior to that win, the Giants had lost each of their last three games including two straight games at home. On the season, New York is 6-7 SU and 7-5-1 ATS thus far. The Giants have gone 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five Week 15 games.

Sunday’s total is set at 48 points. The OVER is 4-1 in New York’s last five home games and 4-1 in Carolina’s last five road games.

It will take a near-perfect effort for the Giants to end Carolina’s undefeated streak, and New York doesn’t appear to have that kind of focus or depth this season. Look for Carolina’s dominance to continue in another win and cover on Sunday over the Giants.
