Washington vs. Eagles 2015 odds: First-place Washington betting underdog at Philly

Washington can clinch the NFC East with a win this Saturday night as road underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Washington is 1-7 straight up and 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games coming off a win the week before. It will try to reverse this trend and lock up the NFC East division title with a win this Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington is a 3-point road betting underdog Saturday night, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In its last three games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington has been the betting underdog and is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS.

Through the first 15 games of the season, Washington has been the betting favorite just twice. As an underdog, Washington has compiled impressive 6-6 SU and 7-5 ATS records, including two straight outright upsets over Chicago and Buffalo in the last two weeks. Washington’s 7-7 SU and ATS record has it in sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

Unfortunately for Washington, the last two games on its schedule are on the road. Washington is 2-18 SU and 6-14 ATS in its last 20 games on the road, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Philadelphia’s 40-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday dropped the Eagles to 6-8 SU and ATS on the season. While the Eagles would be eliminated from playoff contention in many other divisions, in the NFC East they remarkably still control their own destiny. With a win over Washington this week and the New York Giants next week, the Eagles would win the NFC East with an 8-8 SU record. Philadelphia is 13-5 SU in its last 18 games as a home favorite.

Saturday night’s total is set at 48 points. The UNDER is 3-1 in Philadelphia’s last four divisional games and 5-3-1 in the last nine games between the Eagles and Washington.

By most measures, the Washington has been a better and more consistent team than Philadelphia this season. But at home, the Eagles offense should be able to solve Washington for a win and cover Saturday night.
