Packers vs. Cardinals 2015 odds: Green Bay set as betting underdog in Arizona

The Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals will meet in Glendale on Sunday in a battle between two of the NFC’s best teams.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals are 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against NFC North opponents. The Cardinals will try to lock up a first-round bye this Sunday with a win over the Green Bay Packers in Glendale, Arizona.

Arizona is a 4.5-point betting favorite at University of Phoenix Stadium according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Packers are just 2-9 SU and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog.

With a 40-17 blowout win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Arizona Cardinals extended their winning streak to eight straight games and have gone 4-3 ATS over their last seven games.

The game was another testament to Arizona’s strength on both sides of the ball, scoring over 30 points for the fourth time in the last seven weeks and holding an opponent to under 21 for the fourth straight game. At 12-2 SU and 8-6 ATS this season, the Cardinals have been the second-best team in the NFC this year behind only Carolina.

The Cardinals haven’t covered the spread at home since September, going 3-1 SU and 0-4 ATS over their last four home games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Green Bay Packers put together another strong effort in a 30-20 road win over the Oakland Raiders last Sunday, improving to 3-0 SU and ATS over their last three games and 4-1 SU and ATS over their last five.

While Green Bay’s offense isn’t as high-octane as it has been in past seasons, it has been getting the job done and the defense is playing well recently, allowing only 16.4 points per game over the team’s last six games. Green Bay is 4-0 ATS in its last four games against NFC West opponents.

Sunday’s total is set at 50 points. The UNDER is 8-3 in the Packers’ last 11 games overall.

This should be a great game between two of the best teams in the NFL. While Arizona may have the slight edge and home field advantage, getting 4.5 points on the Packers is too much value to pass up on. Take Green Bay to at least keep it close in this big showdown.
