Bengals vs. Broncos 2015 odds: Denver seeks playoff berth as home betting favorite

The Denver Broncos will be looking to lock up a playoff spot on Monday night hosting the Cincinnati Bengals as betting favorites.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are 8-0 straight up in their last eight home games against the Cincinnati Bengals but are just 1-3 against the spread in the last four of those games. The Broncos can clinch a playoff spot with a win on Monday night at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Denver is a 3.5-point home favorite for Monday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last three games as the betting favorite at home, the Broncos are 0-3 ATS.

After getting off to a 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS start to the season, the Denver Broncos appeared to be well on their way to another dominant regular season and AFC West division title.

But over the last seven games, the Broncos have gone just 3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS, leaving the team at 10-4 SU and 7-5-2 ATS and needing a win this week or next week to secure a playoff spot without help. It looks as though the Broncos will go with Brock Osweiler the rest of the way with Peyton Manning’s injury status still uncertain.

The Broncos are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a favorite overall and in their last five games as a favorite against the Cincinnati Bengals, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Cincinnati Bengals passed their first test without injured starting quarterback Andy Dalton last week, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 24-14 on the road. With that win and Pittsburgh’s loss on Sunday, the Bengals have clinched the AFC North, and the team can lock up a first-round bye with an upset win on Monday night.

Cincinnati is 11-3 SU and 11-2-1 ATS this season including a 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS record on the road.

Monday night’s total is set at 40 points. The UNDER is 6-2 in Cincinnati’s last eight games overall and 3-2 in Denver’s last five games.

Cincinnati ranks best in the NFL in scoring defense allowing 17.4 points per game, and Denver isn’t far behind at fourth in the league with 18.5 points per game against. Scoring should be at a premium on Monday night, making the 3.5 points the Bengals are getting look like a good value on the underdog.
