Packers vs. Lions 2015 odds: Green Bay betting favorite in Detroit Thursday

The Green Bay Packers will be looking to avoid a second straight loss to the Detroit Lions with a win as a road favorite on Thursday night.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions are 3-1 straight up and against the spread in their last four games against the Green Bay Packers. The Lions will try to pick up another upset against the Packers this Thursday night at Ford Field in Detroit.

Detroit is a 3-point home underdog on Thursday, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Including this one, the Lions have been the betting underdog in nine of their 12 games this season.

Over the last three weeks, the Lions have looked like their old dominant self on defense, shutting down Green Bay, Oakland and Philadelphia en route to a 3-0 SU and ATS run while allowing just 14.3 points per game.

But while the offense was not a factor against Green Bay and Oakland, it exploded for 45 points on Thanksgiving against the Eagles with Matthew Stafford throwing five touchdown passes, including three to Calvin Johnson.

If that duo is back on track, the Lions could be a tough out down the stretch. Detroit is 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS in its last seven games as a home underdog per the OddsShark NFL Database.

After breaking out of a three-game losing streak with a convincing 30-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings, it looked as though the Green Bay Packers were back in form.

But after a dud performance on Thanksgiving in a 17-13 loss to Chicago as a 7.5-point favorite at home, the Packers are suddenly 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five games after starting the season off 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS. Green Bay is 13-3 SU and 10-6 ATS in its last 16 road games against division rivals.

Sunday’s total is set at 46.5 points. The UNDER is 7-1 in Green Bay’s last eight games overall.

If recent form is any indication, Detroit should be the favorite in this game. The Lions have been playing great on defense and look to be coming around on offense as well. Detroit is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games against NFC North opponents, and look poised for another upset here as 3-point road underdogs on Thursday night.
