Vikings vs. Packers 2016 odds: Minnesota underdog at Green Bay for SNF

The NFC North division title will be on the line Sunday night as the favored Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings are 1-13 straight up and 2-12 against the spread in their last 14 road games in the month of January. The Vikings are on the road at Lambeau Field this Sunday night to take on the Green Bay Packers in a battle for the NFC North division title.

Minnesota is a 3.5-point road underdog on Sunday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last seven games as a road underdog, the Vikings are 7-0 ATS with three outright upsets.

With a 49-17 win over the New York Giants last Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings picked up their second-straight blowout win. The Vikings have been a consistent money maker for their backers this season with a 10-4 SU and 12-2 ATS record over the team’s last 14 games. One of those two ATS losses came against the Packers, when the Vikings had a 5-0 SU and ATS winning streak snapped in a 30-13 loss at home.

In the last six games between these two teams at Lambeau Field, the Minnesota Vikings are 0-5-1 SU and 1-5 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Are the Green Bay Packers a legitimate Super Bowl contender? They didn’t look like one last week in a 38-8 loss on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay’s 10-5 SU and 9-6 ATS record suggests that the Packers are one of the NFC’s top teams, and a win this Sunday night would lock up a fifth straight division title. But in spite of that, the Packers will have plenty to prove this postseason. Green Bay is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games coming off a loss.

Sunday night’s total is set at 46 points. The UNDER is 9-3 in Green Bay’s last 12 games and 7-2 in Minnesota’s last nine games after consecutive wins.

The Vikings have had an excellent season, but against quality teams they have struggled. Green Bay was able to totally shut down the Vikings when these two teams played in Minnesota, and while this game might be closer, the Packers should continue their dominance over the Vikings with another win and cover as a 3.5-point favorite.
