Seahawks vs. Cardinals 2016 odds: Arizona TD betting favorite against Seattle

Two playoff teams in the NFC clash in their final game of the regular season as the Seattle Seahawks visit the favored Arizona Cardinals.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals are 9-0 straight up and 5-4 against the spread over their last nine games. The Cardinals can extend their win streak to 10 games on Sunday with a win at home over the Seattle Seahawks.

Arizona is a 7-point home betting favorite in Glendale this Sunday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The home team is just 1-4 SU and ATS in the last five games between the Seahawks and the Cardinals.

If Arizona’s fantastic season was still going under the radar in some circles, it isn’t anymore after last week’s action. The Cardinals’ complete domination on both sides of the ball in a 38-8 win over the Green Bay Packers coupled with the Carolina Panthers’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons has many bettors wondering whether Arizona is the team to beat heading into the 2015 postseason.

The Cardinals have already locked up a first-round bye, but could clinch the NFC’s top seed with a win and a Carolina loss this week.

The Cardinals are 13-2 SU and 9-6 ATS so far this season. In the team’s last 12 Week 17 games, the Cardinals are 9-3 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Seattle Seahawks had a 5-0 SU and ATS streak snapped last Sunday with a 23-17 upset loss at home against the St. Louis Rams. Heading into that game, Seattle had won its previous three games by a combined score of 103 to 26.

At 9-6 SU and 7-7-1 ATS, the Seahawks have already secured a Wild Card spot, and only seeding implications will be on the line this weekend. Seattle is 15-6 SU in its last 21 divisional games.

Sunday’s total is set at 47.5 points. The OVER is 5-0 in Arizona’s last five games in the month of January and 5-1 in Seattle’s last six January road games.

This is a tricky game to handicap given that both teams are already in the playoffs, and motivation to win over resting players for the postseason is hard to predict. All things considered, Seattle looks like a good value play at +7, as the Seahawks are coming off a loss last week and might play harder trying to get back on track with a big road win.
