Colts vs. Steelers 2015 odds: Pittsburgh TD betting favorite vs Indianapolis

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts clash this Sunday night as both teams look for a key win to help their playoff chances in the AFC.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 9-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games against the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers will look to pick up another win over the Colts at home this Sunday night at Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh is a 7-point home betting favorite against the Colts according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Steelers are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games coming off a loss the week before.

Last Sunday’s 39-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks was troubling for the Steelers in that it was the second time in the team’s last three games that the Steelers allowed at least 35 points on defense.

The Steelers’ defense has been a strength this season allowing 20.9 points per game and will need to get back on track if Pittsburgh is going to finish strongly down the stretch. Pittsburgh is 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS over its last five games since going 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in its previous five games.

The Steelers have been a strong late-season team in recent years with a 7-0 SU and ATS record in their last seven December games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Sporting a 3-5 SU and ATS record through the first eight games of the season, the Indianapolis Colts looked to be down and out in 2015. Making matters worse for the Colts was the loss of Andrew Luck to an injury coming off the team’s upset win over the Denver Broncos.

But with Luck on the shelf, backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has led the team to two more wins, improving his record on the season to 4-0 SU and the team’s to 3-0 SU and ATS over its last three games.

Sunday night’s total is set at 47 points. The UNDER is 7-2 in Pittsburgh’s last nine games and 13-5 in Indianapolis’ last 18 games.

Indianapolis’ 2-14 SU record in its last 16 games against the Steelers looms large, and keeping up with this offense without Andrew Luck could be difficult. But with the way the defense is playing and Hasselbeck has managed the offense, the Colts should be able to cover the spread as 7-point road underdogs on Sunday night.
