Kentucky Wildcats favored in latest March Madness odds

The Kentucky Wildcats are 0-5 ATS over their last five games, but they have gotten the job done in the SU column with a 24-0 SU record this season. The Wildcats have separated themselves from the field as the clear favorite on the odds to win the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky is going off at 11/10 to win the championship at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Wildcats held off LSU in a 71-69 road win on Tuesday to stay undefeated and to stay in the driver’s seat for the top overall seed in the tournament bracket. With sophomore guard Aaron Harrison leading a batch of super talented freshmen, Kentucky looks to be the team to beat.

The Duke Blue Devils have some question marks on defense as illustrated in back-to-back losses to N.C. State and Miami back in January, in which the team game up 88.5 points per game. But those defensive concerns may not matter with one of the best offenses in the country led by Jahlil Okafor and Quinn Cook averaging 80.3 points per game. The high-powered Blue Devils are going off at 8/1 to win the championship.

At 21-2 SU and 12-10-1 ATS, the Wisconsin Badgers are the best team in the Big Ten this season and look to be a serious championship contender. A home loss to Duke and an ugly misstep at Rutgers are the only two blemishes on the Badgers’ schedule, and the team entered Tuesday’s action on a 6-0 SU uptick. Wisconsin is a 9/1 play on the March Madness odds this season at the sportsbooks.

The Kansas Jayhawks have been a tough team to peg this season at 19-4 SU and 14-9 ATS. The Jayhawks have picked up some strong wins against Utah, Baylor, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but have also been blown out by double digits in losses to Kentucky and Temple. Still, a team with Kansas’s talent and rich history have to be considered when the postseason rolls around. The Jayhawks would pay 22/1 to win the NCAA Tournament.

Other potential contenders for the championship this year include Virginia (8/1), Gonzaga (9/1), Arizona (12/1), Notre Dame (20/1), Louisville (25/1), Utah (25/1) and Villanova (25/1).
