Georgia Bulldogs vs. Michigan State Spartans March Madness Odds Preview

No. 7 Michigan State and No. 10 Georgia clash in the Round of 64 in one of Friday’s most anticipated games.

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

The Georgia Bulldogs are 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 games as the betting underdog with six outright upsets over that stretch. The No. 10 Bulldogs will be in the underdog role this Friday afternoon when they play against the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans in the Round of 64 at Time Warner Cable Arena

Georgia is a 6-point underdog in this March Madness matchup according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Michigan State's NCAA Tournament experience will make the Spartans a tough team for the Bulldogs to overcome.

With a 21-11 SU and 19-12-1 ATS record this year, the Georgia Bulldogs were a solid moneymaker for their backers. Georgia finished the season on a 12-6 SU and ATS run that included a 5-2 SU and ATS run over its last seven games. The Bulldogs have not enjoyed much postseason success over the last 20 years with a 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS record in seven NCAA Tournament games since 1996.

After a slow start to the season, Michigan State eventually found its groove down the stretch with an 8-3 SU and 7-4 ATS record over its last 11 games. Led by senior guard Travis Trice (14.8 points per game) and junior guard Denzel Valentine (14.5 PPG), the Spartans averaged 71.9 PPG on offense this season. The Spartans have advanced past the Round of 64 in seven of their last eight tournament appearances with a 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS record.

Friday's total is set at 127 points. The OVER is 5-3 in Georgia's last eight games and 6-1 on Michigan State's last seven.

Over the last two NCAA tournaments, No. 7 seeds have handled their business with a 6-2 SU and 5-2-1 ATS mark against No. 10 seeds. Georgia has shown plenty of fight as an underdog this season and Michigan State is just 4-8 ATS in its last 12 games as a favorite of six points or more. The Bulldogs may keep this one close, but the experience of Michigan State could make the difference in the closing moments of the game.
