Wildcats, Badgers, Blue Devils, Spartans: Final Four Betting Trends

A look at betting trends leading into the No. 1 Kentucky vs. No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 1 Duke vs. No. 7 Michigan State Final Four matchups.

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats are the first team in NCAA basketball history to have a 38-0 SU record and are trying to become the first undefeated championship team in 39 years. But first they'll have to get through No. 1 Wisconsin in the Final Four.

Kentucky is a 5-point favorite over Wisconsin, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Wildcats are 23-3 SU in their last 26 NCAA Tournament games as the betting favorite and 8-2 SU in their last 10 games in the Final Four or championship game.

The ATS numbers haven't been quite as dominant as Kentucky is just 3-5-2 ATS in those 10 games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a tournament favorite overall.

Wisconsin could prove to be a dangerous underdog, boasting a 7-3 SU and 7-2-1 ATS record in its last 10 games as the betting dog. The Badgers are also 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games as an underdog in March Madness play.

With a 20-1 SU record over their last 21 games and a 6-3 ATS record over their last nine games, the Badgers won't be a pushover. Wisconsin is 0-2 SU and ATS in two Final Four appearances since winning the championship back in 1941.

On the other side of the bracket, the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans are set to take on the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils. The Blue Devils are a 5-point favorite at the sportsbooks.

Duke is 19-2 SU over its last 21 games and 8-2 ATS over its last 10 games, including a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS record in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a tournament favorite and are 14-1 SU in their last 15 games as a favorite overall.

Michigan State has a 5-3 SU and ATS record in its last eight March Madness games as an underdog but is just 3-13 SU in its last 16 games as an underdog overall. The Spartans are also just 1-7 SU in their last eight games against Duke. Michigan State is 12-3 SU and 11-4 ATS over its last 15 games with a 4-0 SU and ATS tournament record.
