NBA Betting: Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs odds, matchup stats

The Spurs are 9-3 SU and ATS over their last 12 playoff games and can close out their series with the Clippers with a win at home on Thursday.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers are 3-10 SU and ATS in their last 13 playoff games on the road. The Clippers will need to find a road win this Thursday night to stave off elimination visiting the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 at the AT&T Center.

Los Angeles is a 5.5-point underdog on the road for Game 6 according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Clippers were a 5-point underdog in Game 3 in San Antonio and a 6-point underdog in Game 4.

With less than five seconds left on the clock, it looked as though the Clippers had scored the go-ahead basket and taken a 109-108 lead in Game 5. Instead, the call on the court was offensive goaltending on DeAndre Jordan, a call that was clearly confirmed by video review.

For the second time in the series, Los Angeles couldn’t quite close it out at home, having also lost Game 2 after being unable to score on the final possession of regulation. The Clippers are 3-6 ATS over their last nine games according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

San Antonio’s superior bench has been the story all series long, and this was once again the case in Game 5. The Spurs’ bench outscored the Clippers bench by a score of 48-17 over the course of the game. Boris Diaw scored eight points in the fourth quarter for the Spurs off the bench and was the team’s most effective shooter in the closing minutes of the game.

It is a testament to the strength of the Spurs that they can rely on their bench players even in key minutes. San Antonio is 9-3 SU and ATS over its last 12 playoff games.

Thursday’s total is set at 205.5 points for the Clippers vs. Spurs betting matchup at the sportsbooks. Three of the last four games in this series have played OVER the total.

Just about every game in this series has been a thrilling one so far, and with Los Angeles playing for its playoff lives, Game 6 figures to be another great one. The Clippers won Game 4 114-105 in San Antonio and will need to steal one more on the road to force a Game 7.
