Wisconsin Badgers vs. Duke Blue Devils betting preview, title game matchup odds

No. 1 Duke and No. 1 Wisconsin are the last two teams standing at the Big Dance, and they will meet to decide a champion on Monday.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against No. 1 seeds. The Badgers will try to defeat a No. 1 seed for the second straight game on Monday night when they take on the Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament title game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Wisconsin is a 1-point favorite in the championship game, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Badgers are 19-1 SU and 9-10-1 ATS in their last 20 games as the betting favorite.

Before the NCAA Tournament began, just about everyone had Kentucky penciled in to go all the way. The Wildcats made it to the Final Four, but that is where they met their end at the hands of the Badgers. Fresh off an 85-78 win as a 1.5-point underdog over Arizona, the Badgers were once again the better team as a 4.5-point underdog in a 71-64 win over Kentucky.

Wisconsin is 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS in its last six tournament games as a favorite on the college basketball betting lines, and 21-1 SU in its last 22 games overall.

While the big story on Saturday was Wisconsin’s upset over Kentucky, Duke completely dominated its Final Four game against Michigan State with a convincing 81-61 victory. It has been a methodical run through the NCAA Tournament for the Blue Devils, who are a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS in March Madness this year.

Duke has won every game but one by double digits, winning by an average margin of victory of 17.6 points. The Blue Devils are 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS in their last six games as an underdog, and 20-2 SU in their last 22 games overall.

Monday’s total is set at 140 points for the Badgers vs. Blue Devils betting matchup. The OVER is 5-1 in Duke’s last six games as an underdog and 3-0 in the last three games between Wisconsin and Duke, according to the OddsShark College Basketball Database.

Both of these teams have played like champions throughout the tournament and it is no fluke that either one is here. This battle between No. 1 seeds at the top of their game should make for an excellent national championship game on Monday night.
