American Pharoah, Dortmund and Carpe Diem lead a Kentucky Derby field that will be trying to beat each other and looking to make history as well.
Secretariat is a huge favorite to hold on to his record with the "no" side of this mark being broken going off as a -2000 favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Bettors that believe this historically strong field will push the pace to the fastest Kentucky Derby finish of all time can bet that the record will be broken at +1000.
Nine of the last 15 Kentucky Derby finishing times have come in at UNDER 2:02.20, but four of the last six Derby times have been OVER that total. The line is set at 2:02.20 for this year's event.
One interesting prop bet asks where the winning horse will start in the gate. Bettors can take "Gate 1-10" at -135 over "Gate 11-20" at +105 at the sportsbooks.
