NBA betting: Clippers vs. Rockets odds, matchup stats

The Clippers are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games as a road underdog visiting the Rockets for Game 2 on Wednesday.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS over their last five playoff games, including a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS stretch over their last three games. The Clippers will try to take a 2-0 series lead on Wednesday night when they visit the Houston Rockets for Game 2.

Los Angeles is a 7-point road underdog for Wednesday's game, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Clippers are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games as the betting underdog.

With Chris Paul ruled out for Game 1, many NBA fans and bettors were expecting the Rockets to take advantage of a tired Clippers team at home. Instead, as a 7.5-point underdog, Los Angeles cruised to a 117-101 victory led by Blake Griffin, who had a triple-double in the win.

Coach Doc Rivers has stated that Chris Paul is "50/50" to play in Game 2 with a hamstring injury, though the coach may lean towards more rest for the star point guard considering how well the team played in Game 1. The Clippers are 7-2 SU and ATS in their last nine games against Houston, according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

The Rockets entered Monday night's game against the Clippers on a 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS run, making Monday's 16-point loss at home quite surprising. With a recent history of difficulty against the Clippers, Houston should be fired up in Game 2 to avoid an 0-2 series deficit. The Rockets are 10-3 SU and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games at home.

Wednesday night's total is set at 214 points for the Clippers vs. Rockets betting matchup at the sportsbooks. The UNDER is 6-2 in the last eight games between Houston and Los Angeles.

After losing two games at home and winning two games on the road in their last series against San Antonio, the Clippers proved that home court isn't everything in the postseason. With that said, Houston can't afford to fall down 2-0 in this series with three of the next five potential games played in Los Angeles.
