Seahawks vs. Packers 2015 odds: Green Bay Week 2 NFL betting favorite vs. Seattle

The Green Bay Packers host the Seattle Seahawks as modest betting favorites in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in their last three games against the Seattle Seahawks including the NFC Championship Game last year. The Packers will try to flip the script on the Seahawks this Sunday night at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay is a 3.5-point home favorite against Seattle according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Seattle is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 games as the betting underdog with seven outright upsets over that stretch.

In another display of dominance over the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers picked up a win and cover on the road last week in a 31-23 win over their division rival.

While the game wasn’t as lopsided as the Packers’ wins over the Bears last season, it was still a solid performance for Green Bay starting the season against a division rival on the road. Aaron Rodgers had 189 passing yards and three touchdown passes with no interceptions.

Rodgers and company face a tougher defense this Sunday, but they do get to take on the Seahawks at home. The Packers are 9-0 SU and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite per the OddsShark NFL Database.

It is important to not overreact to one game early in the season, but the Seahawks defense was not its dominant self last week. St. Louis managed to score 34 points and pass for 276 yards in its 34-31 upset win over the Seahawks last Sunday. Seattle trailed for most of the game and Marshawn Lynch was held to only 73 rushing yards on 18 carries.

Even after the loss, Seattle is still 6-2 SU and ATS over its last eight games in the month of September.

Sunday night’s total is currently set at 49 points. The OVER is 4-0 in Seattle’s last four games and 16-7 in Green Bay’s last 23.

It’s difficult to see Seattle falling to 0-2 SU and ATS to start a season, but that could be in the cards for the Seahawks. Green Bay is 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS in its last five home games against the Seahawks, and every player who was on the Packers last year will be fired up for revenge after the playoff loss.

The Packers should get that revenge with a win and cover at -3.5.
