Packers vs. Cardinals odds, 2016 NFL playoffs: Green Bay betting underdog at Arizona

The underdog Green Bay Packers will shoot for a second straight road upset win this Saturday night when they visit the Arizona Cardinals.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are 3-13 straight up and 4-11-1 against the spread in their last 16 games as a betting underdog. They will try to pick up an upset this Saturday on the road in Glendale against the Arizona Cardinals.

Green Bay is a 7-point road underdog according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Cardinals are 1-5 ATS in their last six games at home, but the one cover came against the Packers.

After ending the regular season on an 0-2 SU and ATS slide and averaging just 10.5 points per game in those two games, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers looked like their old selves in a 35-18 win over Washington.

The Packers clicked in both the passing game and the running game en route to a convincing win. They did not look like the team that scored just eight points in a 38-8 blowout loss to Arizona in Week 16.

The Packers have had success against the Cardinals in the past with a 7-3 SU record in their last 10 games. Green Bay is 3-1 SU and ATS in its last four games as an underdog against the Cardinals, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Cardinals wrapped up their regular season with a disappointing 36-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but it also didn’t mean much. Before that game, Arizona had locked up a first-round bye with a 9-0 SU and 5-4 ATS run, eventually ending the season with a 13-3 SU and 9-7 ATS record.

Arizona is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven home games in the month of January.

Saturday’s total is set at 50 points. The UNDER is 10-4 in Green Bay’s last 14 games and 5-2 in the last seven games between the Packers and Cardinals.

With a bit more confidence on offense and the season on the line, don’t expect the Packers to lose by 30 points again. But at home with a week to prepare for a matchup that it so thoroughly dominated less than one month ago, Arizona looks like a safe play as a 7-point favorite.
