The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 11-0 straight up and 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games with their Wild Card win against the Houston Texans. The Chiefs are on the road again, this time to take on the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

The Kansas City Chiefs face the toughest test of their season this Saturday when they visit the New England Patriots.

Kansas City is a 5-point road underdog at Gillette Stadium, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last four games as a favorite of 5.5 points or less, the Patriots are just 1-3 SU and ATS.
Fans and bettors, who hadn’t been paying attention to how well the Chiefs have been playing over the last few months, got to see their skill on display in a 30-0 blowout win over the Texans last week. The Chiefs dominated the game on both sides of the ball and don’t seem to have any glaring weaknesses.
During the team’s 11-game winning streak, the Chiefs averaged 28 points per game while allowing only 11.6 points per game.
The only bad news to come out of the game was an ankle injury to star wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who is currently listed as day-to-day but is unlikely to be at 100 percent if he does play against New England. Kansas City is 2-5 SU in its last seven games against New England per the OddsShark NFL Database.
A 10-0 SU and 5-2-3 ATS start to the season for New England had people wondering if the Patriots were on their way to another undefeated regular season.
Instead, the Patriots faltered down the stretch with a 2-4 SU and ATS finish, including losses to the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins to end the season and lose control of the top seed in the AFC. But, reinforcements are on the way as Julian Edelman, Sebastian Vollmer and Dont’a Hightower are all cleared to play after getting healthy over the bye week.
The TOTAL is set at 42.5. The UNDER is 5-1 in Kansas City’s last six January games.
New England has home field and had an extra week to prepare for this matchup. The Patriots will be tough to beat outright, but the Chiefs won’t go down without a fight and should cover as a 5.5-point underdog.
