Colts vs. Texans 2016 odds: Indianapolis an underdog on Sunday night against rival Houston
The Indianapolis Colts will be looking to continue some positive betting trends against the Houston Texans when the AFC South rivals clash in the Sunday night matchup.

Indianapolis is a 3-point road underdog in Houston at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last seven games as a road dog, the Colts are 3-4 SU and 4-3 ATS.
Including the final three games of the 2015 season, seven of Indianapolis’ last eight games have been decided by six points or less. The Colts’ flare for the dramatic led to a disappointing 1-3 SU and ATS start this season, but with a 29-23 win over Chicago last week Indianapolis is right back in the hunt for the top spot of the wide-open AFC South.
Andrew Luck is likely to be called upon to out-shoot opposing teams all season long with the Colts defense allowing 29.6 points per game.
The Colts have dominated the AFC South in recent seasons. Since the start of the 2013 season, Indianapolis is 16-3 SU and 13-5-1 ATS in 19 games against division rivals per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Betting Line / Total: Houston -3 / 48.5 Points
Trend: The Colts are 6-1 SU and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Texans.
Trend: The Texans are 7-2 SU and ATS in their last nine games at home.
Last week’s 31-13 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings was Houston’s second double-digit loss in a span of three games. Despite a 3-2 SU and ATS start, the Texans have serious concerns about Brock Osweiler, whose 70.6 passer rating ranks 29th out of 31 qualified quarterbacks; ahead of only Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Houston’s defense will keep the Texans competitive throughout the year, but Osweiler will need to be better if the team hopes to be a contender. Houston is 7-2 SU and ATS in its last nine games at home.
Sunday night’s total is set at 48.5 points at the Bovada sportsbook. The UNDER is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings between the Colts and the Texans.
With a win at home, the Texans could hold on to sole possession of first place in the AFC South and add some separation between themselves and the Colts. But if Indianapolis pulls off the road upset, it could set the tone for an ugly divisional battle that could go all the way down to the wire.
