Seahawks vs. Cardinals odds: Seattle set as a small road underdog at Arizona for Sunday night

The Seattle Seahawks will be seeking a fourth straight road win over the Arizona Cardinals when the NFC West rivals clash on Sunday night.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are 9-4 straight up and against the spread in their last 13 games against NFC West opponents. The Seahawks will try to add to their lead in the division with a road win on Sunday night against the Arizona Cardinals.

Seattle is a 1.5-point road underdog in Glendale at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last three trips to Arizona, the Seahawks are 3-0 SU and ATS against the Cardinals.

Scoring just 21 total points in a 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS start to the season, Seattle’s offense got off to a rough start in 2016. But over the team’s last three games, the Seahawks have averaged 30 points per game with a record of 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS.

Christine Michael has settled in well as the team’s featured back, and Russell Wilson is back on track after the slow start. Defensively, the Seahawks have allowed fewer yards than any other team in the NFL and rank third in scoring defense allowing just 15.6 points per game.

The Seahawks have been a strong underdog play in recent years with a 16-5-1 ATS record and 12 outright upsets in their last 22 games as the betting underdog per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Arizona -1.5 / 43 Points

Trend: The total has gone UNDER in four of the Cardinals’ last five games against their division.

Trend: The Seahawks are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games in Week 7.

After starting the season off in a 1-3 SU and ATS slump, Arizona made good use of favorable matchups against weak teams in San Francisco and the New York Jets with back-to-back double-digit wins.

Now sitting at 3-3 SU and ATS in the standings, the Cardinals face a brutal five-game stretch in their schedule that includes Sunday’s game against Seattle and then road tests in Carolina, Minnesota and Atlanta. Arizona is 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS in its last nine games as a favorite of a field goal or less.

Sunday night’s total is set at 43 points. The OVER is 10-2 in Seattle’s last 12 road games against Arizona.

Facing a tough upcoming schedule and the prospect of falling back under .500, this could be a must-win game for the Cardinals. Both of these teams came into the year expected to battle for first place in the NFC West, but a Seattle win would give the Seahawks a huge lead just seven weeks into the season.
