NFL odds 2016, Week 8: Saints, Packers underdogs, Patriots favorites on betting lines

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints are 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games as a home underdog. The Saints will be a home underdog for the second time this season on Sunday hosting the Seattle Seahawks.

New Orleans is a 2.5-point home underdog on the NFL lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Seattle ranks second in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing only 14 points per game. New Orleans ranks third in the league in scoring offense with 29.3 points per game, setting the stage for an offense vs. defense showdown.

The Saints have played well against good teams recently with an 8-0-1 ATS record in their last nine games against teams with winning records.

New England (-6) at Buffalo

Minnesota (-6) at Chicago

Philadelphia at Dallas (-4.5)

Seattle (-2.5) at New Orleans

Green Bay at Atlanta (-2.5)

The highest scoring offense in the NFL belongs to the Atlanta Falcons, who will be at home this Sunday hosting the Green Bay Packers. The Falcons have averaged 32.7 points per game in 2016 en route to a 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS record. Atlanta is 0-10 ATS in its last 10 games as the betting favorite.

Green Bay is going off as a 2.5-point road underdog despite having won each of its last four games against the Falcons.

New England’s only loss of the season so far came to the Buffalo Bills in Foxborough when Tom Brady was still sidelined serving his four-game suspension. On Sunday, the Patriots will try to avenge that loss on the road against the Bills.

The Patriots are 9-0 SU and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games coming off a loss to the team in their previous matchup. Buffalo is a 6-point underdog at home.

The final two games of Week 8 are a Sunday Night Football clash between Philadelphia at Dallas (-4.5) and a Monday Night Football matchup between Minnesota (-6) at Chicago.

The visiting team is a perfect 6-0 SU in the last six games between the Eagles and the Cowboys. Minnesota is just 1-7 SU in its last eight games against the Bears, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, but more recently is 9-0 SU in its last nine games against teams with losing records.
