Eagles vs. Seahawks 2016 odds: Seattle listed as a solid home favorite over Philadelphia

The Seattle Seahawks will try to pick up a third straight win when they host the Philadelphia Eagles as almost a touchdown favorite at home on Sunday afternoon.

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are 4-1 straight up and against the spread in their last five games against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Seahawks will be shooting for a third straight win over the Eagles this Sunday afternoon in Seattle.

Seattle is a 6.5-point home favorite at CenturyLink Field at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The visiting team is 7-1 SU and ATS in the last eight meetings between these two teams.

Despite having to travel across the country to New England on a short week after an appearance on Monday Night Football, Seattle showed no signs of fatigue in a 31-24 victory over the Patriots as 7.5-point underdogs.

The Seahawks currently rank 30th in the NFL in rushing with just 77.7 yards per game, but that number could get a boost with the return of starting tailback Thomas Rawls on Sunday. Seattle is 6-2-1 SU and 4-4-1 ATS on the season thus far.

Seattle’s win over New England was the team’s fourth straight in the month of November. The Seahawks are 11-2 SU and 8-4-1 ATS in their last 13 games played in November per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Seattle -6.5 / 44 Points

Trend: The visiting team is 7-1 SU and ATS in its last eight games in this matchup.

Trend: The total has gone OVER in five of the Seahawks’ last seven games.

Philadelphia was at its best last Sunday in a 24-15 win at home over the Atlanta Falcons, dominating the game defensively against one of the league’s most explosive offenses.

The Eagles are 5-4 SU and ATS in 2016, and their recipe to win is clear; the team is 5-0 SU and ATS in games that the defense has given up 17 points or less and 0-4 SU and ATS in games that it has allowed 20 points or more. All four of those losses have come in Philadelphia’s last four games on the road.

Sunday’s total is set at 44 points. The OVER is 5-2 in Seattle’s last seven games overall.

The Eagles are just 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as an underdog of 4.5 points or more. Philadelphia has shown signs of improvement this season from a 7-9 SU and ATS campaign last year, but will need to find a way to win in tough spots like this one to reach the next level.
