Texans vs. Raiders 2016 odds: Oakland the betting favorite against Houston in Mexico City

The favored Oakland Raiders and underdog Houston Texans clash at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Monday night to close out Week 11 of the NFL season.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Raiders are 7-1 straight up and 8-0 against the spread in their last eight games away from home. While this Monday night’s game will technically count as a Raiders home game, it will be played at a neutral location in Mexico City against the Houston Texans.

Oakland is a 6-point favorite at the Estadio Azteca at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Raiders have won two of their last three games against the Texans.

The Raiders made a statement in the final game heading into their bye week, physically dominating the defending champion Denver Broncos in a 30-20 win at home. It was the third straight game in which the Raiders had scored at least 30 points, and it was also the team’s third straight win and cover.

Oakland is 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS on the season with a 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS record over its last seven games.

In their last four games coming off a bye week, the Raiders are 2-2 SU and 4-0 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database. Oakland was 0-9 SU and ATS in its previous nine games coming off a bye before this current stretch.

Betting Line / Total: Oakland -6 / 46 Points

Trend: The Texans are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games on the road against the Raiders.

Trend: The Raiders are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games at home.

Houston has been dreadful on offense this season, ranking 29th in the NFL in scoring offense with 17.9 points per game and 30th in total yardage with 308.8 yards per game. The Brock Osweiler experiment has been a disaster so far in Houston as the former Broncos quarterback ranks dead last among current starting quarterbacks with a 74.1 passer rating.

But despite the team’s offensive struggles, the Texans are 6-3 SU and 5-3-1 ATS thanks to a defense that ranks fourth in the league allowing just 317.4 yards per game.

Monday night’s total is set at 46 points. The OVER is 3-1 in the last four games between these two teams.

Oakland’s high-powered offense squaring off against Houston’s stingy defense should create a very interesting matchup this Monday night. The Raiders were able to power through Denver’s defense with 218 rushing yards in their last game, and should bring a balanced attack to the table again in this one coming off of their bye.
