NFL odds, Thanksgiving 2016: Steelers, Cowboys, Lions favorites for Thursday slate

The NFL’s Thursday Thanksgiving triple-header has Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Detroit sitting as the betting favorites at the sportsbooks in key Week 12 matchups.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings are 15-4 straight up and against the spread in their last 19 games as an underdog of a field goal or less. The Vikings can stay hot as a small underdogs with a win this Thursday on the road against the Detroit Lions.

Minnesota is a 2.5-point road underdog this Thanksgiving at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Going off as a 1-point favorite at home against Arizona last week, the Vikings snapped out of an 0-4 SU and ATS slump with a 30-24 win.

That win brought Minnesota’s record to 6-4 SU and ATS, moving the Vikings into a tie for first place in the NFC North with the Lions.

Detroit has been one of the most dramatic teams in the NFL this season. The Lions have trailed heading into the fourth quarter in all 10 of their games, but are remarkably 6-4 SU and ATS all the same. The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last five games played on a Thursday.

Washington at Dallas (-7)

Minnesota at Detroit (-2.5)

Washington has also had some success recently as a betting underdog, going 8-1-1 SU and 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games as an underdog of seven points or less. Washington will be an underdog of exactly 7 points this Thursday facing the red-hot Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas is a perfect 9-0 SU and ATS over its last nine games, including a 27-23 road win over Washington when theseteams met in September.

The Cowboys have historically been dominant at home over Washington with an 18-6 SU record in their last 24 home games against their rival, but since 2007 the Redskins hold an 8-1 ATS advantage at Dallas.

Wrapping up the Thanksgiving Thursday triple-header, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a 9-point favorite on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. Pittsburgh was originally expected to go off as a 3-point favorite in this one, but Andrew Luck is in concussion protocol and expected to stay out of the game for Indianapolis, which has severely tilted the scales in Pittsburgh’s favor.

Scott Tolzien will start for the Colts in Luck’s place. Indianapolis is 10-2 SU and 11-1 ATS in its last 12 games as a home underdog.
