Cowboys vs. Vikings odds: Dallas set as road favorite at Minnesota for Thursday night

The Dallas Cowboys enter Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings as the hottest team in football, and as road betting favorites at the sportsbooks.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are 10-0 straight up and 9-1 against the spread over their last 10 games. The Cowboys will try to extend the league’s longest winning streak this Thursday night on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.

Dallas is a 3.5-point road favorite on Thursday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last six games as a betting favorite, the Cowboys are 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS.

The Cowboys finally failed to cover a spread last Thursday, giving up a touchdown pass in the final two minutes of a 31-26 win over Washington to surrender a backdoor cover as a 5.5-point favorites.

The ATS loss broke a streak of nine straight ATS wins, but the team picked up its 10th straight win and has a two-game lead over the New York Giants for the best record in the NFC at 10-1. Led by Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys offense has been extremely consistent, scoring at least 27 points in seven straight games.

Minnesota has historically given Dallas trouble. The Cowboys are 2-7 SU and 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against the Vikings, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Dallas -3.5 / 44 Points

Trend: The Cowboys are 2-7 SU and 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against the Vikings.

Trend: The total has gone UNDER in six of the Cowboys’ last eight games against the Vikings.

On the heels of a 5-0 SU and ATS start, the Minnesota Vikings were looking the part of a legitimate Super Bowl contender. But since that start, the Vikings are just 1-5 SU and ATS, hampered by a weak offensive line and an anemic rushing attack.

The Vikings rank dead last in the NFL with 71.1 rushing yards per game, and they have averaged 16.5 points per game over their last six games. Minnesota is 9-5 SU and 11-3 ATS in its last 14 games as an underdog at home.

Thursday night’s total is set at 44 points. The UNDER is 8-2 in Dallas’s last 10 games on the road.

Dallas ranks fifth in the NFL in total yards on offense with 407.6 per game, and third in the league in scoring with 28.7 points per game. With the Cowboys locked in on offense, Minnesota will need to find a way to move the ball more efficiently than it has been on Thursday if it hopes to avoid a sixth loss in its last seven games.
