NFL odds 2016, Week 10: Opening betting lines and top matchup analysis

The Carolina Panthers will be looking to continue their uphill climb with a win at home over the Kansas City Chiefs as one of the Week 10 betting favorites.

The Carolina Panthers are 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last seven home games against teams with winning records. The Panthers will try to pick up a third straight win when they host the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

Carolina is a 3-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Since starting the season off with a 1-5 SU and ATS record, the Panthers have turned things around of late with a 2-0 SU and 1-0-1 ATS record in their last two games.

Now they face a tough test against the Chiefs, who are 4-0 SU over their last four games. Kansas City is 7-3 SU and ATS in its last 10 games on the road.

Dallas at Pittsburgh (-2.5)

Only three percent of NFL teams that have started the year off 0-3 SU since 1980 have gone on to make the playoffs. The New Orleans Saints are hoping to become one of those teams, putting together a 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS record over their last five games since starting off 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS.

This Sunday, the Saints are a 1.5-point favorite hosting the Denver Broncos. Denver is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in its last four games against New Orleans.

The Dallas Cowboys are tied with the New England Patriots for the best record in the NFL, hitting the halfway point of their season with a 7-1 SU and 7-0-1 ATS record in eight games. The Cowboys face a tough test this Sunday as a 2.5-point underdog on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dallas is 7-3 SU and ATS in its last 10 games played in Week 10 per the OddsShark NFL Database. The Steelers are 7-2 SU in their last nine games coming off a loss as a favorite.

Rounding out the Week 10 action is a Sunday Night Football matchup of Seattle at New England (-7) and a Monday Night Football clash of Cincinnati at New York Giants (-2). The Seahawks are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five road games against New England. Cincinnati is 0-8-1 SU in its last nine games against teams with winning records.
