Giants vs. Steelers 2016 odds: New York set as underdog at Pittsburgh for Sunday matchup
The New York Giants will try to add to a six-game winning streak as they take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh as road underdogs at the sportsbooks this weekend.

New York is a 6-point road underdog at Heinz Field at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In the last three games in this head-to-head series, the Giants are 3-1 ATS.
The Giants started the season off with a disappointing 2-3 SU and 0-3-2 ATS record, but have since bounced back with six straight wins and a 5-1 ATS record. New York has looked sharp over the course of its win streak, but each of its last five wins have come against teams with losing records including Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Chicago and Cleveland.
The team will get a much tougher test on the road this week against the elite offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As a betting underdog, the Giants are just 3-16 SU and 7-10-2 ATS in their last 19 games per the OddsShark NFL Database. New York had lost eight straight games as an underdog before defeating Cincinnati 21-20 as a 1-point home underdog on November 14.
Betting Line / Total: Pittsburgh -6 / 49 Points
Trend: The Giants are 3-1 ATS in their last four games against the Steelers.
Trend: The total has gone UNDER in five of the Steelers’ last six games as favorite.
Pittsburgh has snapped out of an 0-4 SU and ATS slump with back-to-back blowout road wins over Cleveland and Indianapolis. As is the case with New York’s hot streak though, wins over Cleveland and an Indianapolis team without Andrew Luck aren’t all that impressive.
The defense allowed 28.3 points per game over its losing streak and will need to find a way to contain Odell Beckham Jr. this week. The Steelers are 10-1 SU and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 December games.
Sunday’s total is set at 49 points. The UNDER is 5-1 in Pittsburgh’s last six games as a betting favorite.
The Steelers have the tools on offense to be a dangerous team this postseason, but first they’ll have to make the postseason in what is turning out to be a competitive playoff picture in the AFC. New York’s playoff spot looks safe at the moment with an 8-3 record, but with a tough schedule down the stretch the Giants can’t afford to rest on their laurels just yet.
