Ravens vs. Steelers 2016 odds: Baltimore is a Christmas Day underdog at rival Pittsburgh

The Baltimore Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers as betting underdogs at the sportsbooks on Sunday with the AFC North lead on the line.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens are 4-0 straight up and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens will try to go into Pittsburgh and pick up a fifth straight win over their hated rivals this Sunday afternoon.

Baltimore is a 5-point underdog on Christmas Day at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Despite earning wins in their last two games in Pittsburgh, the Ravens are 9-21 SU in their last 30 road games against the Steelers.

After starting their season off on a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS run, the Ravens went 0-4 SU and ATS in their four games in the month of October. Baltimore broke out of that slump with a win at home over the Steelers and is 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS over its last seven games.

If the Ravens win on Sunday, they would take over first place in the AFC North by virtue of the head-to-head tiebreaker, as they would be 2-0 SU against Pittsburgh this season.

In their last seven game played in the late afternoon, the Ravens are 0-7 SU and 1-6 ATS.

Betting Line / Total: Pittsburgh -5 / 44.5 Points

Trend: The Ravens are 4-0 SU and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games against the Steelers.

Trend: The Steelers are 13-1 SU and 12-1-1 ATS in their last 14 games in December.

Like Baltimore, Pittsburgh has also suffered through an 0-4 SU and ATS slump this season, which brought the team’s record down to 4-5 SU. But since then, the Steelers are a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS, scoring at least 24 points in all five of those wins while allowing an average of only 14 points per game to opponents.

Pittsburgh is 13-1 SU and 12-1-1 ATS in its last 14 games played in the month of December, per the OddsShark NFL Database, and can clinch the AFC North with a win on Sunday.

Sunday’s total is set at 44.5 points. The UNDER is 8-2 in Pittsburgh’s last 10 games overall and 3-0 in its last three games against Baltimore.

These two teams have always played each other close over the years, with Baltimore holding the slightest of edges with an 11-9 SU and 8-9-3 ATS record in the last 20 games in this head-to-head series. With both of these rivals fighting for the division title and potentially their playoff lives, there will be no shortage of intensity in this Christmas day clash.
