UFC 207 odds: Ronda Rousey small betting favorite in octagon return vs. Amanda Nunes

After over a year out of action, Ronda Rousey hopes to regain her title in the main event of UFC 207 as the betting favorite against Amanda Nunes.

Ronda Rousey had her perfect 12-0 record as a professional tarnished with a loss in her last fight at UFC 193. The 29-year-old makes her long-anticipated return to action in the main event of UFC 207 on Friday facing Amanda Nunes for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.

Rousey is a -140 betting favorite to win the bantamweight title at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. After having her air of invincibility taken away from her in a shocking loss to Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey took some time off from the sport and the public eye to refocus on her training and motivations.

But instead of taking a fight or two against softer competition to work her way back into form, Rousey is going straight for the title off her break.

Nunes has won each of her last four fights, including an upset over Miesha Tate at UFC 200 to win the bantamweight title. With strong striking skills, Nunes could potentially emulate the game plan that Holly Holm pulled off to defeat Rousey, keeping Rousey at a distance. Nunes would pay +110 on an upset win on the UFC 207 odds to retain her title.

Dominick Cruz holds the men’s bantamweight title and has won each of his last 13 fights. Cruz is a -225 favorite to defend his title against the undefeated Cody Garbrandt (+175) on Friday.

Garbrandt is 10-0 over the course of his professional career, and all but one of his fights have been won by knockout. Six of Cruz’s last seven fights have been decided by decision after five rounds, and the champion’s defense and stamina should give him an edge if he can avoid an early knockout.

TJ Dillashaw (-240) will battle John Lineker (+190) to become the No. 1 contender in the bantamweight division. This fight could be similar in style to the co-main event, with the hard-striking Lineker looking to end the fight early as Dillashaw looks to extend it to the cards.

Other fights on the UFC 207 card include Neil Magny (-115) vs. Johny Hendricks (-115), Dong Hyun Kim (-145) vs. Tarec Saffiedine (+115) and Alex Garcia (-170) vs. Mike Pyle (+140).
