NCAA Tournament 2016 odds: Kansas, Michigan State, UNC, Oklahoma region favorites

Kansas, Michigan State, North Carolina and Oklahoma enter the NCAA Tournament as favorites to advance to the Final Four.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Oregon Ducks are 8-0 straight up and 5-3 against the spread in their last eight games, including a successful run through the Pac-12 Tournament. However, despite earning a top seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Ducks are not the favorite to win the West Region.

Oregon is going off at +275 on the odds to win the West Region at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The favorite to win this portion of the bracket is the Oklahoma Sooners, who are going off at +210 to do so. The Sooners are just 6-5 SU and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games, but bettors are likely banking on the exciting Buddy Hield to do some damage in the tournament.

History favors the Sooners as six of the last 20 winners in this region have been 2-seeds compared to just five 1-seeds over that stretch. Other contenders in the West Region include No. 4 Duke (+400), No. 3 Texas A&M (+550), No. 6 Texas (+650) and No. 5 Baylor (+1100).

Another 2-seed favored to win its region is Michigan State in the Midwest Region. The Spartans are a +160 favorite to win the region over the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers, who are going off at +210. These two teams have met in each of the last two NCAA Tournaments with Michigan State coming out on top both times. They appear to be on a collision course again here in 2016, but No. 5 Purdue (+600), No. 4 Iowa State (+750), No. 3 Utah (+900) and No. 11 Gonzaga will try to play spoiler.

North Carolina came on strong at the end of the season, going 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS over its last eight games, per the OddsShark College Basketball Database. The Tar Heels won the ACC Tournament, earned a one-seed and are now a +160 favorite to emerge as the winner of the East Region. North Carolina's biggest obstacles in the East are No. 3 West Virginia (+375), No. 4 Kentucky (+450), No. 2 Xavier (+500) and No. 5 Indiana (+800).

The biggest favorite to win their respective region are the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks going off as a +130 favorite in the South Region. Kansas will try to fend off No. 2 Villanova at +275, No. 3 Miami and No. 5 Maryland at +700 each and No. 4 California, No. 6 Arizona and No. 7 Iowa at +1100 each.
