Valparaiso is a two-point betting favorite in Tuesday's semifinal matchup, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. An upset loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay in the Horizon Tournament semifinals cost Valparaiso a chance at playing in the NCAA Tournament, but the Crusaders have made the most of their No. 1 seed in the NIT thus far with three straight double-digit wins for a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS tournament record.
BYU made a late push at an NCAA Tournament spot as well with a 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS run in early February, but two losses to Gonzaga in the team’s final three games landed the Cougars in the NIT Tournament as a No. 2 seed.
The Cougars are 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in their last three games, narrowly defeating Virginia Tech, 80-77, in the Round of 16, then bouncing back with a strong 88-82 win over Creighton in the quarterfinals.
