Toronto is a 4.5-point home favorite in Game 5 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last five playoff home games, the Raptors are 4-1 SU, but they have failed to cover the spread in each of their last four.
For the second time in their series against the Heat, the Raptors lost in overtime in Game 4, failing to cover the spread as the Heat won by a final score of 94-87.
It was surprising that the game even made it to overtime with how bad Toronto's two offensive stars played as DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry combined for just 19 points on a 6-for-28 night from the floor. The duo have underperformed all postseason long, and will need to be better over the next two to three games to close out the pesky Heat.
The Raptors are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five home games against the Heat per the OddsShark NBA Database. Miami was 6-0 SU and ATS in its previous six trips to Toronto before the Raptors’ recent turnaround.
One of the biggest stories in the Eastern Conference so far this postseason has been the exceptional play of Dwyane Wade. Wade led the way for the Heat in Game 4 with 30 points, his second straight game with at least 30 points to bring his series scoring average to 27.3 points per game; over eight points higher than his regular season average.
With Wade and the Heat defense playing well, Miami is built for road success. The Heat are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in their last three games away from home.
Wednesday’s total is set at 188.5 points at the sportsbooks. The UNDER is 2-0-1 in the last three games in this series.
It doesn’t get much more evenly-matched than this series has been, tied 2-2 through four games with three of those first four games going to overtime. The underdog is 3-1 ATS in this series, and the only time the favorite has covered was in an overtime game.
