Thunder vs. Warriors, 2016 NBA playoff odds: OKC set as road underdog for potential clincher

The Oklahoma City Thunder can close out the Western Conference Finals on the road against the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 on Thursday.

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma City Thunder are 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last seven games with four outright upsets over that stretch. With one more upset over the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 on Thursday night, the Thunder would advance to the NBA Finals.

Oklahoma City is a 7-point road underdog for the matchup at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Thunder have been the betting underdog in every game in this series.

Coming off a 133-105 victory in Game 3, the Thunder knew they were going to get Golden State’s best shot in Game 4. The Thunder did more than just hold serve on their home court, instead once again dominating the Warriors and running away with a 24-point victory in Tuesday night’s 118-94 blowout.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are leading the way, but players like Serge Ibaka, Andre Roberson and Dion Waiters are also giving the Warriors matchup problems.

In seven road games this postseason, the Thunder are 5-2 SU and ATS per the OddsShark NBA Database.

The Warriors are no strangers to long winning streaks with an 82-14 SU record so far this season, and they will now need three straight wins to keep their season alive. The Warriors can certainly do more on offense than they have to this point in the series, but the real question is whether Golden State can find an answer on defense for this relentless Oklahoma City attack.

The Warriors allowed 104.1 points per game during the regular season, but in this series have been torched for 112.5 points per game. Golden State is just 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS over its last seven games.

Thursday’s total is set at 220.5 points. The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five games between the Warriors and Thunder.

In a series that many were expecting to be full of close games and exciting finishes, each of the last three games have been decided by at least 24 points. The Warriors were on the right side of a 118-91 blowout win in Game 2, and would love another effort like that one to try to build some momentum into this tall task of beating the red-hot Thunder three times in a row.
