Spain has won each of the last two UEFA European Championships, lifting the trophy in both 2012 and 2008. The back-to-back winners will try to win this tournament for the third straight time in France over the next month.
Euro 2016 odds: Spain trailing France, Germany on the Euro 2016 tournament betting futures
Two-time defending champion Spain will be looking for a third straight Euro victory as the tournament gets underway in France this weekend.

One of the top three favorites to win the Euro 2016, Spain is currently going off at +500 to win the tournament at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Only France at +300 and Germany at +450 are higher on the betting board to win this prestigious event.
Spain had won three straight major tournaments with its World Cup victory in 2010 in between its two Euro Cup victories before falling short in the 2014 World Cup, getting eliminated in the group stage despite being one of the favorites to win it all that year.
The Spanish squad outscored its opponents 12-1 through a dominant run in the group and knockout stages in 2012 and should once again be dangerous in 2016.
While Spain suffered a letdown at the 2014 World Cup, Germany flourished in that tournament, racking up 11 goals in the knockout stage en route to the national team’s first major international win since the Euro 1996.
Germany’s attack is loaded with offensive weapons, making this team one of the most dangerous and difficult to defend in the tournament.
France would love to exact some revenge on both of these teams as the host nation in the European Championship this year. The French team was eliminated from the 2014 World Cup by Germany and from the 2012 Euro Cup by Spain, each time in the quarterfinals.
France has a history of success when hosting major tournaments, winning the European Championship in 1984 and the World Cup in 1998 in front of its home fans.
Other contenders to win the Euro 2016 tournament include England (+800), Belgium (+900), Italy (+1600), Portugal (+1600), and Croatia (+2500).
England and Belgium both have strong young cores that have shown plenty of promise but will need to take a step forward to knock off the tournament’s more established favorites. Cristiano Ronaldo always makes Portugal a dangerous out as the tournament progresses.
