Jason Day leads all golfers on the PGA Tour this season with three tournament wins. Day will try to win his fourth tournament of the year and the second major of his career this weekend at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.
U.S. Open 2016 odds: Jason Day betting favorite on odds to win over McIlroy, Spieth
Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth are the oddsmakers’ top favorites as they try to beat a deep field to win the U.S. Open this week.

Currently ranked No. 1 in the World Golf Ranking, Day is going off at a betting line of +650 on the odds to win the U.S. Open at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In 11 tournament appearances this season, Day has six top-10 finishes and three wins, including his win at The Players Championship last month with a 15-under par performance.
Day has been the best golfer on the tour this season and has the tools and composure to conquer this challenging course.
McIlroy (+750 to win the U.S. Open) is still searching for his first PGA Tour win of 2016. McIlroy has cracked the top five in four of his last seven events, but two of the exceptions were a 10th-place finish at the Masters and a 12th-place finish at The Players Championship.
The 2011 U.S. Open winner will need to step up his game to finish atop this talented field.
One year removed from his dream season in 2015, Jordan Spieth (+850) has had his share of struggles in 2016. The defending U.S. Open champion blew a big lead in the Masters to finish runner-up and outright missed the cut at The Players.
However, Spieth has also won two tournaments this year, and his skill set seems to matchup well with this tough course at Oakmont.
Could this be the event in which Dustin Johnson (+1200) finally wins a major? Johnson has eight top-10 finishes in 13 events played this season, and enters this tournament in strong form with five top-five finishes in his last seven events.
Other potential contenders to win the U.S. Open include Justin Rose (+2800), Phil Mickelson (+2800), Rickie Fowler (+2800), Adam Scott (+3000), Henrik Stenson (+3300), Hideki Matsuyama (+3300), Matt Kuchar (+3500), Danny Willett (+4000) and Brooks Koepka (+4000).
Scott is the only other player on the tour besides Spieth and Day to have two tournament wins this season.
