NBA Draft 2016 odds and prop bets: Dunn, Brown, Bender, Hield odds hit sportsbooks

The Philadelphia 76ers are on the clock as the 2016 NBA Draft gets underway on Thursday, with betting props now out at the sportsbooks.

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers were the worst team in the NBA last season with a 10-72 straight up and 37-44-1 against the spread record. Help is on the way for the 76ers as a win in the draft lottery earned Philadelphia the No. 1 overall pick.

Philadelphia has taken the drama out of the proceedings by announcing its intentions to draft Ben Simmons with the first overall pick this week. The Los Angeles Lakers followed suit, verbally committing to drafting Brandon Ingram with the second overall pick. With the top two picks virtually locked in, attention turns to the Boston Celtics with the No. 3 pick.

Providence’s Kris Dunn is a -120 betting favorite to be picked third in the 2016 NBA Draft at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. But there isn’t a consensus in this spot as Jaylen Brown (+325 to be picked at No. 3), Dragan Bender (+400), and Buddy Hield (+600) could all be considered.

With Boston actively shopping the pick in exchange for a proven star, it could be possible to see a trade up from a team that loves one of these players.

The Phoenix Suns hold the fourth overall pick, and most mock drafts have the Suns taking forward Marquese Chriss in this spot. Chriss is going off at -205 to be the No. 4 pick in the draft, though value hunters may consider Bender at +350; the Suns have reportedly hosted both of these players in solo workouts.

Other options at No. 4 include Jamal Murray (+450) and Brown (+500).

One of the most intriguing players in the draft is Oklahoma’s Hield, who finished second in the nation in scoring last season with 25 points per game. Hield has the offensive upside to be a premier scorer in the NBA, but his size and defense make him a somewhat riskier pick than some of his counterparts in this draft.

Hield is a -175 favorite to be drafted OVER 5.5 picks in this draft and would pay +145 if drafted in the top five picks on Thursday night.

In head-to-head props, Hield is going off at +240 to be drafted ahead of Murray, who is a -300 favorite to be drafted before Hield. Brown is a slight -130 favorite in a head-to-head matchup against Bender (+100) for who will be drafted first.
