Since 2013, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 4-10 straight up and 6-8 against the spread in 14 preseason games. The Jaguars will try to pick up their first win of the 2016 preseason this Sunday night hosting the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals vs. Jaguars 2016 odds: Jacksonville set as small favorite for Sunday night football
The Jacksonville Jaguars will try to win their first game of the preseason as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals as small favorites on Sunday night.

Jacksonville is a 1.5-point home favorite for Sunday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last five preseason games, the Jaguars are 1-4 SU and ATS.
The Jaguars haven’t made the postseason since 2007, and have been one of the worst teams in the NFL since then with just a 19-61 SU record over the last five seasons. But the team took some small steps forward in 2015 with a 5-11 SU and 7-8-1 ATS record as quarterback Blake Bortles showed some major potential with 4,428 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns.
Bortles has been very sharp in limited playing time this preseason, and should get more snaps in what will likely be his final tune-up game of the exhibition slate on Sunday.
The Jaguars are 13-7 SU and 10-10 ATS in their last 20 games as a preseason favorite per the OddsShark NFL Database. Jacksonville went 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS in its previous eight games as a preseason favorite before going 0-3 SU and ATS over its last three.
Under head coach Marvin Lewis, the Bengals have been a consistent producer in the regular season with four straight seasons of 10 wins or more. The Bengals have also enjoyed preseason success in recent years with a 9-5 SU and 9-4-1 ATS record over their last 14 preseason games.
Of course, Bengals fans would give all of this preseason and regular season success up for some wins in the playoffs, where Cincinnati is 0-8 SU and 0-7-1 ATS over its last eight postseason games.
Sunday’s total is set at 43 points. The OVER is 8-5 in Cincinnati’s last 13 preseason games on the road.
The Jacksonville Jaguars spent high draft picks and big money during the offseason to address their defensive woes, and that upgraded defense will get a test against one of the AFC’s most consistent offenses this Sunday against Cincinnati.
For a young team looking to build some momentum heading into the regular season, Jacksonville should be desperate to avoid an 0-3 SU start to the preseason.
