The San Jose Sharks are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games against the Los Angeles Kings, but have lost each of the last two games in this head-to-head series. The Sharks will try to pick up a win over the Kings on the road Wednesday night and pay out for supporters on the NHL betting lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

However, in 22 road games this season, the Sharks own a middling record of just 11-10-1.

The Sharks were red hot in the month of December, with an 8-1 record over their last nine games when they entered a home-and-home series against Los Angeles. The Kings took both of the games in this rivalry matchup, which proved to be the start of a 3-5 slump for the Sharks over their last eight games.

San Jose has been looking for consistency on offense all season long, averaging 2.6 goals per game this season after ranking fourth in the NHL with 2.9 goals per game last year.

Since the start of the 2015-16 season, San Jose is 6-1 in its last seven road games against Los Angeles per the OddsShark NHL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Los Angeles -125 / 5 Goals

Trend: The Sharks are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games against the Kings.

Trend: The Kings are 14-7-1 at home this season.

Los Angeles looked like it could be in for a long season when it lost star goaltender Jonathan Quick to a groin injury in the team’s season opener. But veteran backup Peter Budaj has stepped in admirably, posting a 20-12-3 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage as the Kings rank fifth in the league in goals against with 2.4 per game.

The Kings have been considerably better at home this season, with a 14-7-1 record than they have been on the road at 8-11-3. The UNDER is 4-1-3 in the last eight games between Los Angeles and San Jose for totals bettors.

With three meetings in the postseason over the last four years, these two teams have developed a strong in-state rivalry. Seven of the last nine games between the Sharks and Kings have been decided by just one goal, and Wednesday’s contest will likely be another close one between two of the biggest and most physical teams in the Western Conference.
