Giants vs. Packers odds, 2017 NFL playoffs: New York listed as betting underdog at Green Bay

Two of the NFC’s hottest teams clash on Sunday as the New York Giants visit the favored Green Bay Packers in a Wild Card Weekend matchup at Lambeau.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants are 3-1 straight up and 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games against the Green Bay Packers. The Giants will be looking for an upset over the Packers on the road this Sunday in the final game of the Wild Card Round.

New York is a 4.5-point road underdog in Green Bay at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last nine Wild Card games, the Giants are 7-2 ATS.

Despite the fact that the Giants had nothing to gain from last Sunday’s road game against Washington, the team still got the job done in a 19-10 win as 9-point underdogs.

New York ended the regular season on a 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS run, and the defense has been red-hot over the last few weeks allowing only 14.3 points on average in the Giants’ last seven games. The Giants will try to avenge a 23-16 loss to Green Bay from back on Oct. 9 this weekend.

Even after last Sunday’s upset win, the Giants are just 3-10 SU and 5-6-2 ATS in their last 13 games as a betting underdog per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Green Bay -4.5 / 44.5 Points

Trend: The Giants are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games against the Packers.

Trend: The Packers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games in the playoffs as home favorites.

The Packers didn’t look much like a team capable of running the table over the rest of their schedule on the heels of back-to-back blowout losses to Tennessee and Washington, but that’s exactly what the team did.

Averaging 30.8 points per game over its last six games, Green Bay won the NFC North with a 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS run to wrap up the regular season. Aaron Rodgers led the offense to at least 30 points in each of the team’s last four games, including 38-point efforts against strong defenses facing Seattle and Minnesota.

Sunday’s total is set at 44.5 points. The UNDER is 10-4 in Green Bay’s last 14 games played at home.

With the levels that New York’s defense and Green Bay’s offense are playing at, this should be a thrilling matchup to watch. Both of these teams have the chance to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders, but only one of them will survive the toughest game on the NFL playoff betting card this weekend.
