Washington squandered an opportunity to tighten the race in the NFC East Monday night, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, 34-24, as 5-point underdogs. The loss brought Washington’s record to 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS on the season with a 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS mark over the team’s last three games.
Washington’s defense has allowed 29 points per game over the team’s last three games, up from 20 points per game over the team’s first three.
In its last nine games as a home underdog, Washington has excelled, posting a 7-2 SU and ATS record over that stretch per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Originally, it appeared Ezekiel Elliott wasn’t going to be available for last Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers as his six-game suspension was set to begin. But for the second time this season, Elliott received a reprieve in the form of a postponement on that suspension, clearing the way for him to play.
Elliott capitalized on that with 219 total yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns, leading Dallas to a 40-10 victory and snapping the Cowboys’ 1-3 SU and ATS slump. Dallas is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 October road games.
Sunday’s total is set at 50.5 points. The UNDER is 7-3 in Washington’s last 10 home games against Dallas.
Elliot’s suspension status is still up in the air and isn’t expected to be resolved before Sunday, giving the Cowboys a key weapon at their disposal against Washington. With Philadelphia seemingly running away with the NFC East and seven teams in the NFC already at four wins on the season, Dallas and Washington are both still in the hunt at 3-3 SU, but a loss this week would significantly hurt their postseason chances.
