Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs still have a top-10 scoring defense in the NFL, allowing 19.3 points per game. But this year’s team has a much more potent offense than it has had in the past. Alex Smith is doing more than just managing games, with 1,067 passing yards and eight passing touchdowns while still making good decisions with no interceptions on the year.

And rookie running back Kareem Hunt has been a home run with six total touchdowns and a league-leading 502 rushing yards.

As shown in their win as 8-point underdogs on the road against New England in Week 1, the Chiefs have been road warriors over the last two seasons. Kansas City is 8-0 SU and ATS over its last eight road games, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Houston Texans

Houston also appears to have a home run rookie on its hands in quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson is making plays with both his hands and feet, passing for seven touchdowns and 811 yards and rushing for two touchdowns and 148 yards so far this season.

The Texans are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS since Watson has taken over the starting job. Remarkably, Houston is just 3-21-1 ATS in its last 25 games played at night.

Sunday night’s total is set at 45 points. The UNDER is 3-1 in the last four games between Kansas City and Houston.

The key battle in this game could be Houston’s defensive line against Kansas City’s offensive line. Dealing with some injuries on the offensive line, the Chiefs could have their hands full facing one of the most dangerous defensive lines in the game, led by J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.
