Buffalo Bills
With a bend-but-don’t-break defense and excellent play at home, the Bills have been one of the AFC’s best teams this season with a 5-2 SU and 4-1-2 ATS record. Buffalo’s defense ranks 22nd in the NFL in total yards allowed with 346.6 per game, but on the scoreboard, the Bills allow the third-fewest points per game at 16.4.
To be a playoff team, the Bills will need to prove they can win on the road; Buffalo is 4-0 SU and 3-0-1 ATS at home this season while going 1-2 SU and 1-1-1 ATS so far on the road.
Picking up production against division rivals would also be beneficial. The Bills are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five games against AFC East foes, per the OddsShark NFL Database.
New York Jets
The Jets have proven to be far more competitive than preseason prognosticators were expecting them to be. New York has lost each of its last three games, but all three of those losses were to teams over .500 and by a touchdown or less. On the season, the Jets are 3-5 SU and 5-2-1 ATS through the first half of their schedule. The Jets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games at home.
Thursday night’s total is set at 43 points. The UNDER is 5-1 in the last six games between the Bills and Jets.
Both of these teams have exceeded expectations this season, and Buffalo can actually move into a four-way tie for the best record in the AFC with a win on Thursday. Three of the last five games in this head-to-head series have been decided by six points or fewer, and this one could continue that trend.
