Los Angeles Rams
No team has seen a more drastic change from last season than the Los Angeles Rams. After finishing 2016 with an 0-7 SU and ATS run and the worst offense in the league, the team has been completely turned around by new head coach Sean McVay.
The 31-year-old has transformed the league’s worst offense into one of its best, ranking No. 1 in scoring with 32.9 points per game and third in total yards with 388.9 per game. Over the team’s current 4-0 SU and ATS run, Los Angeles has outscored its opponents 144 to 41.
The Rams are 1-0 SU and ATS as an underdog this season. In their previous nine games as one, the Rams were 0-9 SU and 0-8-1 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Minnesota Vikings
When starting quarterback Sam Bradford joined Teddy Bridgewater on the IR with a knee injury, many believed that the Vikings would crumble. Instead, they’ve gone 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS over their last five games thanks in large part to the play of Case Keenum.
Keenum has completed 64.9% of his passes this season and passed for 11 touchdowns with only five interceptions. Minnesota is 11-5 SU and 13-3 ATS in its last 16 games at home overall and 7-1 ATS in its last eight home games against teams with winning records.
Sunday’s total is set at 46 points. The OVER is 8-3 in the last 11 games between the Rams and Vikings.
That trend towards the OVER in this head-to-head series could certainly continue this year. Both of these teams and quarterbacks are playing at a high level, setting the stage for a great game and a potential preview of an NFC postseason game down the road.
