Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks improved to 6-3 SU on the season and 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS over their last six games with their win last Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals. But the win came at a price as two of the team’s elite defensive players, Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor, were both lost due to injury.
Chancellor is expected to return at some point this season while Sherman will miss the rest of the year with a ruptured Achilles.
These injuries are especially troublesome with Atlanta’s dangerous passing attack coming into town this week. Seattle is 2-5 SU in its last seven games against Atlanta and 2-5 ATS in its last seven home games against the Falcons per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta broke out of a 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS slump in fashion last Sunday, dominating the Dallas Cowboys on both sides of the ball in a 27-7 victory as 3.5-point favorites. With a win on the road against the Seahawks, the Falcons could start to build some momentum and earn back-to-back wins for the first time since September.
The Falcons are 9-3 SU and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games played on the west coast.
Monday night’s total is set at 45 points. The OVER is 6-1 in the last seven games between Atlanta and Seattle.
If the playoffs were to start today, Seattle would be the final wild card team and the Falcons would be on the outside looking in. There is still plenty of football left to be played over the final seven weeks of the season, but this is an important opportunity for both of these teams to score a win over a team that they are directly fighting for a playoff spot.
