The New York Giants will try to upset rival Washington as touchdown underdogs on the betting lines in the Thanksgiving Day night game.


New York is a 7-point road underdog in Washington at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This will mark just the second time in 2017 that Washington is going off as a betting favorite.

For the second time this season, the Giants cashed in with an outright upset as double-digit underdogs last Sunday. One month after defeating Denver 23-10 as 13.5-point underdogs on the road, the Giants clawed out a 12-9 victory as 10-point home underdogs on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
With an injury-ravaged offense that ranks 30th in the NFL in scoring ahead of only Cleveland and Miami with 16.2 points per game, the Giants’ only real chance to stay competitive comes when the defense plays at a high level.
The Giants are 2-8 SU and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 road games played in the month of November per the OddsShark NFL Database.
With under six minutes to go in their game against the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, Washington seemed to have the game firmly in hand with a 31-15 lead. But two quick touchdowns and a two-point conversion erased Washington’s lead, sending the game to overtime where the Saints would win 34-31.
Kirk Cousins is having another fantastic year in 2017, but Washington is just 4-6 SU and ATS thanks to a scoring defense that ranks 31st in the league in allowing 26.2 points per game.
Thursday’s night’s total is set at 44.5 points. The UNDER is 8-3 in the last 11 games between Washington and New York.
Washington is just 2-5 SU and 1-6 ATS in its last seven games at home. Neither of these teams can be trusted to win games this season, making the seven points on New York’s side tempting. Washington’s last victory over the Giants by more than a touchdown came all the way back in 2011.
