New Orleans Saints

The Saints bounced back from a streak-ending loss to the Los Angeles Rams with an impressive 31-21 victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. With the win, the Saints are now 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS over their last 10 games since starting the season in an 0-2 SU and ATS hole.

New Orleans ranks second in the NFL in total yards per game with 408.6 and third in scoring with 29.4 points per game and is more dangerous than ever on offense with a rushing attack that averages 142.6 yards per game.

In their last seven games as a road favorite, the Saints are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta had its 3-0 SU and ATS run snapped in last Sunday’s 14-9 loss at home to the Minnesota Vikings. At 7-5 SU and 5-7 ATS, the Falcons are still in the race for a playoff spot in the crowded NFC, but there isn’t much room left for error.

The Falcons are 7-1 ATS in their last eight instances as a home underdog and 5-1 SU in their last six games as one. After returning with 74 rushing yards on 12 carries against Minnesota last week, Devonta Freeman could be set to put up bigger numbers this week against New Orleans’ softer rushing defense.

Thursday night’s total is set at 53 points. The UNDER is 4-1 in New Orleans’ last five games played on a Thursday.

With Carolina at 8-4 and Atlanta at 7-5 heading into the final four games of the season, New Orleans, among the contenders at +1000 on the Super Bowl odds, still has work to do to clinch the NFC South. A win on Thursday however would give the Saints a commanding three-game lead over Atlanta for the division lead and they already own the head-to-head tiebreaker over Carolina. An Atlanta win keeps things open down the stretch.
