Tom Brady is currently tied with Joe Montana for the most Super Bowl MVP awards of all time as both quarterbacks have earned three. Brady will have the chance to take sole possession of first place if he is able to lead the New England Patriots to a win in Super Bowl LI.
Super Bowl 2017 prop bets: Quarterbacks Brady, Ryan sit as favorites on game MVP odds
Tom Brady and Matt Ryan top the betting board at the sportsbooks this week as the most likely recipients of Super Bowl LI MVP honors on Sunday night.

Brady is a +120 favorite on the odds to win the Super Bowl MVP award at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The star quarterback has enjoyed an incredible season even by his own lofty standards, recording 28 touchdown passes and two interceptions in a suspension-shortened regular season and 384 yards and three touchdowns in New England’s 36-17 win over Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship.
Seven of the last 10 Super Bowl MVP awards have gone to quarterbacks, and 27 of the 50 all time have, as well. This makes Matt Ryan a logical choice at +200 to win the Super Bowl MVP award if the Atlanta Falcons are able to come out on top.
Ryan may have done enough in the regular season (4,944 passing yards and 38 passing touchdowns with just seven interceptions) to earn him the regular season MVP award, and that dominance has carried over into the postseason with 730 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and no interceptions in two wins.
The Falcons star has passed for 18 touchdowns and no interceptions over his last six games.
Both of these quarterbacks spread the ball around to many targets, which will make any one player on offense besides them less likely to stand out. But if any one target is likely to steal his quarterback’s thunder, it would be Julio Jones at +900 on those Super Bowl LI props.
Jones is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and if he has a dominant performance, he could become the first wide receiver since Santonio Holmes in Super Bowl XLIII to take home the award.
Other potential winners include Logan Ryan (NE) at +1000, Devonta Freeman (ATL) at +2500, Julian Edelman (NE) at +2500, LeGarrette Blount (NE) at +2500, Chris Hogan (NE) at +2500, Dion Lewis (NE) at +3300, and Mohamed Sanu (ATL) at +4000.
Blount could be a good option for value hunters on the Super Bowl LI MVP odds. The Patriots back has four multi-touchdown games this season and could end up with the award if he were to earn the majority of New England’s scores in a win.
