Heat vs. Rockets 2017 odds: Houston riding SU and ATS run into its matchup with Miami
The Houston Rockets will try to stay hot with a win at home on Wednesday over the Miami Heat as sizable betting favorites at the sportsbooks.

Houston is a 9-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last six games as a home favorite, the Rockets are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS.
Coming off a 9-0 SU and 6-3 run, Houston hit a rough patch in January, going 5-8 SU and 4-9 ATS over a 13-game span with all but one of those losses coming as a betting favorite.
The Rockets appear to be back in gear now however with four straight wins, including three straight blowouts by an average margin of victory of 22.3 points per game. Houston lost to Miami as a 7-point road favorite during its January slump, and will have a chance to avenge that loss here at home on Wednesday.
The Rockets have hosted the Heat four times since 2010 and are 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in those four games per the OddsShark NBA Database.
Betting Line / Total: Houston -9 / 222 Points
Trend: The Rockets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against the Heat.
Trend: The Heat are 3-0 ATS in their last three games as a road underdog.
Miami broke out of a 1-10 SU and 4-7 ATS slump with its win over Houston on January 17. That win sparked a remarkable 13-0 SU and ATS hot streak that included seven outright upsets, thrusting the Heat back into the playoff race in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat have lost some of their steam with back-to-back losses to Philadelphia and Orlando, giving up 116.5 points per game in those two losses after allowing only 98.8 points per game over their winning streak. Miami is 3-0 SU and ATS in its last three games as a road underdog.
Wednesday night’s total is set at 222 points. The OVER is 5-2 in Miami’s last seven games and 3-1 in Houston’s last four games.
Given the way that Miami has played in its last two games, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the Heat were content to just limp into the all-star break and take that time to regroup. Then again, the Heat seem to be at their best this season when bettors are counting them out.
