Two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor appears closer than ever of getting his wish to meet unbeaten welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the boxing ring, and the odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com have moved slightly in his favor since the opening line was released on the hypothetical matchup.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor Boxing Odds: McGregor the Betting Underdog
Conor McGregor is listed as the betting underdog against Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the sportsbooks in the proposed dream fight between the two champions.

Once a massive +950 underdog (bet $100 to win $950) in the mega-fight, McGregor is now listed at +750 odds.
On the other hand, Mayweather (49-0) has seen his status as a giant favorite drop a bit from -2250 (bet $2,250 to win $100) to -1400, which is still a huge number regardless.
The retired WBA and WBC champion will be at least 40 years old (his birthday is February 24) when the proposed fight takes place, and he has not fought since earning a unanimous-decision victory against Andre Berto on September 12, 2015.
The 28-year-old McGregor is obviously a lot younger and has been more active recently than his potential opponent, which might be the only two advantages he has going for him.
The brash Irishman has not entered the Octagon since scoring a second-round TKO of Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title at UFC 205 last November 12.
McGregor previously won the featherweight championship with a 13-second KO of Jose Aldo at UFC 194 less than a year earlier, making him the first fighter ever in the organization to hold two title belts at the same time.
McGregor has essentially taken this year off from the UFC in anticipation of his first child being born, but a big money fight like this would be too tough for him to pass up, especially since he has called for it.
While McGregor has relinquished both of his title belts due to extended inactivity, UFC president Dana White still has him under contract, which means that could hold things up before a fight against Mayweather is officially announced.
The two sides would need to work out an agreement, and White has scoffed at the idea of a boxing match between the two even though he personally offered $25 million to Mayweather to fight McGregor. Mayweather has said he would not fight again for anything less than $100 million.
